Detail on the face of Crazy Horse, remember this face is 9 stories high, and the rock has been blasted away!

The faces at Mount Rushmore. All 4 of these faces will easily fit in the face of Crazy Horse.

Jed seeing if he can be the 5th face, don't think so pal.
Had an early start today to make up for the last few days. Everything going very well, stopped for fuel, stopped for breakfast and flying along at 90mph on beautiful sweeping roads through the Sandhills. Stopped again to grab a chocolate bar and a hot choc and whilst looking at bike I looked down at the rear wheel. Shock Horror, this is what I saw.

A section about 8 inches long was down to the cords. I would have prosecuted people for having tyres in this state!. Everytime I had stopped previously this section must have been on the ground or to the front of the machine, that's the only reason I could have missed it. I knew the tyre had squared off but not this bad.
At this point I am about 170 miles from the next big place along US20, Sioux City, and that is the only place I am likely to get a tyre, so off I go again, this time at a much reduced speed as I fear a blow out, gulp. Typical of me, I stray off the US20 (don't know how as its the first time I have done it) and end up in a town called Norfolk, about 30 miles further south. Stopped at a garage and ask about a Honda dealer, lo and behold there is one 2 miles further south, B and B motorcycles.
Make my way there and they say the do not have a tyre to fit but can get me one one Monday, however they phone around and some one across town has a part worn, however when it arrives it is almost as bad. What to do?
The manager then comes back out of the office with a brand new Bridgestone tyre that a customer had ordered 2 weeks ago but not yet collected, and yes, it is the correct size. 30 mins later I am on my way again and $254.00 lighter in my wallet, but legal.
So, onto Sioux City and telephone contact again, hurrah. A day of 375 miles (and an hour lost due to crossing the time line again, not a bad day all in all.
