Weather in Seattle.

Jackie and Stevem Seattle is just to the eaast of the Cascade mountains so the clouds dump rain before hitting the mountains, so yes, it is a wet city.

Yesterday I awoke to heavy rain and rode through it to the Boeing factory, however it had stopped by the time I left the tour, however it was very misty for a few more hours. Just like being back home really. Today is sunny intervals with showers as opposed to showers with sunny intervals. It is a standing joke here that if it isn't raining, wait 5 minutes and it will be, so yes some truth in the prog you were watching.

Got stopped by an irate traffic cop on a BMW motorcycle whilst on the Insterstate running into Seattle today. Started to go mad because I did not have a Licence (registration) Plate. Explained that the bike was registered in the Isle of Man and that I had shipped it over for a couple of months touring. He could not understand this and was asking how long I had been living in Seattle and why the bike did not have a Washington Licence Plate. Finally got though to him but don't think he was into the idea of touring. He went of in a bit of a huff - don't think I made his day at all , typical traffic cop eh!! How to make friends and influence people - asshole!!

Hey Nick,

Arnie and I are back at home in Silverdale; arrived last night at midnight. We have been reading over your blog this evening - were surprised and delighted to have been included in your entry for July 9th! We had a great trip and it sounds like you are having quite an experience on the highways and byways of America. Of course, you could have done without the not-so-bright Seattle cop. Too bad you didn't give him your blog address so that he could read your assessment of him! We loved the "Going to the Sun" road in Glacier - that is to say, we loved the incredibly spectacular scenery from the road. The road itself gave me heart palpitations; good thing Arnie has nerves of steal. Also loved being in Yellowstone again, and driving the North Cascades Highway again. We're so glad you enjoyed our wonderful state - we think it has some of the best scenery in the world. (But then, we're biased) We very much enjoyed meeting you, Nick, and wish you only good experiences as you travel eastward. Do so in safety! Warm Regards from Sharon and Arnie Fairchild

I just looked over the comment I sent last night, and was embarrassed to see that I had written "steal" when I meant "steel." That's what happens when I write while exhausted. We hope your day is going great!
